The twin Devi temple of "Thiruvalathur" is a very ancient one of its kind in Kerala. It is famus for its grand architectural beauty and sculptural designs. The temple is directly governed by "Thrissur Naduvilamadam Devaswam". According to legend it is one of the 108 Durga Temples founded by Lord “Parasurama”. It is believed that this temple was built by the servants of god within a short period of 14 days. It is a shrine where the powerful Goddess “Mahishasuramardhini” and the quiet and peaceful Goddess “Annapurnneswari” are enshrined together.
